New tech-inc with Diwali stamps

Hello everyone,

This is my second gust designer post for Ranganjali blog and I am so excited to share my work with you.

Before starting to share my work, let me tell you, if you want to create something from Diwali Stamps after the festival is over, stay with me. Let me show how I created detailing on this card using these stamps. I have also used different colouring technique for this card. Believe it or not! I have used glass colours to give a Meenakari look like we find in some jewelry
First. I have mixed sliver dust with fevicol+water (1:1). This liquid will help your paper to hold glass colors and give a shiny look. I painted my card stock with this liquid and then I stamped Rangoli and Diya designs with beautiful stamps from Ranganjali.

After that, I took one white card stock 6"x7" and made two boarders first is 1" and the other, inner one of 3/4". I painted them with sliver liquid. I stamped my first boarder with half of the Rangoli design. I stamped my second boarder with Diya Flame and Dotted design from the Diwali Diya stamp set. Yes I have used Diya Flame for creating the narrower, inner boarder, you can also make flowers from it by using it as a flower petal and Dotted circles as flower centers

Once I completed stamping the borders, I outlined all the images with gold outliner. Now you are ready to fill glass colors of your choice. I also cut a Rangoli design for center. Using this technique, you can create many creative and unique things. For example, you can decorate gift boxes, create photo-frames and more.

 Here is the final look.

Second thing I have created is a mixed media gift box top for my little nephew. Let me describe how I created it
First of all, I covered a gift box with a Canvas cloth. Then I did stencil work with texture paste. Once it was dry  I coloured the base with my alcohol inks. I wanted some fading effect so I used diluted gesso over it. Once it was dry I highlighted some areas with Inka Gold and Copper.

I made Ganesha with white Mseal, you can use any clay for that. I pasted a metal chain at the top of the chipboard above Ganesha. I stamped some Rangoli and Diya from Ranganjali Diwali Diya stamps set.
I have also made some Diwali decorations like crackers some with paper and some with clay that I have used for Ganesha.

Later, I painted Ganesha, Diya and chipboard with pearl colors brown, gold, green and copper. I painted some Diya with silver dust (diluted with Fevicol and water). Again after outlining them with gold outliner I coloured them with glass colors.

If you notice, I have cut some pieces from the Rangoli stamp after colouring and used them in my little decorations like Ganesha’s headgear and in a clay candle. I cut one more Rangoli design which I painted with my sketch pens and placed it under the Ganesha.
I have used some embellishments like mini bells, flowers and some diecut leaves and other traditional elements from Ranganjali’s Diwali Diywa stamp set.

Lastly, I assembled all the components and a perfectly traditional Diwali gift box top is ready
Hope you found it interesting and useful. Let me know how it turned out!

Diwali wishes,
Pooja

MIX MEDIA INSPIRATION ON DIWALI

Hello to all,

I am Pooja, I am glad to be a guest today on Ranganjali blog. I am presenting some colourful creations on Diwali theme created using Ranganjali’s Diwali Diya Stamp Set. The first one is a layout and the second one is a greeting card.

Layout

I decided to upcycle some scrap paper pieces for these projects. We all have scrap pieces, however once in a while we get some ideas where these pieces can be used perfectly. First, I stamped with Rangoli stamp from the Diwali Diya stamp set in black archival ink. I used distress inks- Wilted Violet and Vintage Photo as planned to have antique look.

On another piece, I used Wow embossing powders and heat embossed a half of the image. After that, I applied Wilted Violet in the center, and little yellow and Gold of Inca Gold on sides. I stamped some Diya from the same stamp set and painted with watercolours. I drew, painted and cut a girl’s image to go with the theme.

Once I had all the pieces ready, I assembled them. I used three yellow papers pieces and distressed their edges. I die cut a yellow paper using Spellbinder’s Labels Twenty Two. As a base, I re-used an old red card.

So here is the complete look of the layout.

Greeting Card

This, next one is a layered card.

For this, I have used a negative diecut piece left from the above layout to give a window like look. I added another piece of yellow paper in an arch shape to give additional depth to the window and added little flowers on it. I have used a remaining piece of purple sheet as a background for the window. Again, I have used the same stamp set to create Diya images and to stamp sentiments as well as Aum and Shree symbols.

These are two quick creation of mine. I hope you like them.

Thanks for stopping by!

And, happy holidays to all in advance!
